Improved Concentric Thread Connectors for SCRs and Pipelines

At the 2011 OTC, GMC’s David Riggs, alongside Jack Pollack, SBM Atlantia, delivered a paper on the improvements to the mechanical connector. This paper summarises many of the improvements which enabled the mechanical connector to meet DNV specifications for the ISO 21329 for offshore pipelines and risers.
