Deepwater Lowering System

GMC’s ‘Connected Pipe Deepwater Deployment System’.

GMC Deepwater Lowering System, has been designed for installation of subsea modules, the system uses GMC’s patented, ISO certified and proven high fatigue connectors to provide a strong and reliable method of interconnecting tubulars for deploying the hardware to the seabed. The system can be used for safely lowering modules such as PLET’s, PLEM’s, Manifolds and heavy subsea hardware from any crane barge or vessel of opportunity in deep water hostile environments.

The system offers fast deployment, using high fatigue, quick connect snaplay connections. Once in position the subsea module is parked and the deployment system is recovered to surface and ready for the next deployment. Reducing installation time and cost, and enabling large heavy modules to be lowered safely in a controlled manner in deep water applications. The rigid deployment system is less effected by resonance than traditional installation methods.

Applications

  • Open Water lowering of subsea modules

Specification

  • Load rating :- 3,000 metric Tonne modules. (System can be tailored to client requirements)
  • Typical operating environment :- 1,500m water depth
  • Maximum operating environment :– Unlimited system can be tailored to any water depth

Advantages

  • Rigid deployment system, less resonance than slings, synthetic rope or wire systems.
  • No Torque, Re-usable system,
  • Controllable deployment.
  • Suitable for harsh deep water environments.
  • Proven high fatigue connector technology, used for high tensile applications.
  • Fast make / break connection system (less than 2 minutes for final make up).
  • Non-rotational connection system.
  • Compatible with GMC’s Rotating Anchor Latch systems.
